Alexandria University won the first place in the final of the largest international competition of the European Union on raising awareness about entrepreneurship. The competition was held on Thursday evening, October 17 in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.
During the competition, which began several months ago, Alexandria University was able to present a unique global model regarding the university's efforts in integrating entrepreneurial concepts and integrating its culture into the educational content.
The university also provided a unique model of non-stereotypical and interactive education basing on the concepts of learning and participation.
Dr. Essam El Kurdi, President of Alexandria University, received the first place award during a celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the European Training Foundation.
After receiving the award, Dr. Al-Kurdi confirmed that the experiment started at the university by selecting the course of entrepreneurship and innovation to be taught to students in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He pointed out that the university introduced from the current semester a compulsory course for all university students on entrepreneurship and innovation through the Center of Career Development and Entrepreneurship at the university.
He also thanked the team that contributed to this achievement, for their efforts over the past months to change the concept of entrepreneurship culture among students and encourage them to establish their own projects, which would contribute to building the country.
Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, said that the university has chosen a course approved by the British Pearson Foundation.
