‎ Al-Azhar Ash-Sharif welcomes Egypt’s announced intention to ‎officially intervene to support South Africa’s lawsuit against the ‎Israel at the International Court of Justice, stressing its full ‎support for the political leadership in this initiative. Al-Azhar adds ‎that this initiative befits Egypt’s status and its long and honorable ‎history within the framework of advocating for the Palestinian ‎cause, maintaining the rights of the Palestinians, undermining the ‎false rhetoric of oppressors and aggressors, and living up to the ‎position of the Egyptian people in support of the steadfastness of ‎their brothers and sisters in the Gaza Strip.‎

Al-Azhar calls on all people to exercise the utmost levels of political, ‎international, and popular pressure toward stopping the bloodshed, ‎besieging Israel politically and economically, and ‎bringing them to trial for the terrorist crimes they have been ‎committing for more than 75 years against the Palestinian people.

It ‎also calls for all to work toward putting an end to the ongoing ‎massacres that have been perpetrated for more than 220 ‎consecutive days.‎
