Al Azhar, the world's foremost institution of Sunni Islamic learning, decided on Sunday to send an urgent medical and relief aid convoy through the Rafah border to the Gaza Strip upon directives of Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb.

Calm prevailed throughout Gaza during the early hours of this morning, there are no raids, Israeli artillery shelling, or any rockets fired from the Palestinian factions towards Tel Aviv.

The Israeli missile attacks on Gaza resulted in the death of 232 Palestinians, including 65 children, 39 women, and 17 elderly people, while more than 1900 were wounded, of which 90 were classified as extremely dangerous.
