Al-Azhar Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb held a phone call with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to extend his congratulations ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, expressing hopes for continued stability and prosperity for Egypt and the wider Arab and Islamic worlds.
During the call, Al-Tayeb wished the president good health and success, praying for blessings upon Egypt and its people. He also expressed his appreciation for the leadership’s continued efforts in serving the nation and maintaining stability during a challenging period.
President El-Sisi, in turn, congratulated the Grand Imam on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, wishing him continued health and well-being. He also took the opportunity to check on Al-Tayeb’s health following recent concerns.
The president praised the role of Al-Azhar as a leading religious institution in promoting moderation and raising awareness, highlighting its importance in strengthening social cohesion and combating extremist ideologies.
