Al-Azhar expresses deep regret for the ongoing violence in the Darfur region of Western Sudan and calls for an immediate cessation of conflict and fighting in the country.

"Hundreds of families have been forced to leave their homes and countries, fleeing for their lives from the horrors of conflicts," while urging the Almighty to protect the people of Sudan, unite their voices, and bring an end to this tragedy, granting Sudan security, safety, peace, and stability,” Al-Azhar said in a statement.

The statement also calls on the wise leaders and citizens of Sudan to prioritize the interests of their nation, resort to reason and wisdom, return to the dialogue table, and put an end to conflicts that can only lead to further death and destruction.

Furthermore, Al-Azhar encourages all international relief organizations and entities to swiftly dispatch urgent humanitarian aid convoys to the regions affected by the conflicts in Sudan.

The situation demands immediate attention and assistance to alleviate the suffering of the affected communities.
