Al Ahly SC strengthened their grip on the top of Group B in the CAF Champions League after securing a valuable 2–0 victory over Young Africans SC in Cairo on matchday three of the group stage.

The win lifted Al Ahly’s tally to 7 points, placing them alone at the top of the group with a three-point advantage over Young Africans, who sit second with 4 points. AS FAR occupy third place with 2 points, while JS Kabylie remain bottom of the group, also with 2 points.

The reigning African champions delivered a composed performance on home soil, converting their dominance into goals and tightening their hold on qualification for the knockout stage as the group phase reaches its midpoint.

Al Ahly will now turn their attention to domestic competition as they prepare to face Wadi Degla SC on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Al Salam Stadium, in the 16th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly currently sit third in the league standings with 23 points, nine points behind leaders Ceramica Cleopatra FC, but with two games in hand. Wadi Degla also have 23 points and are positioned fourth in the table.

The league clash will be broadcast live on On Sport, with a pre-match studio analysis featuring a panel of Egyptian football experts.
