Akhbar El Youm Economic Conference sent a positive message to the world that Egypt is safe despite the coronavirus pandemic under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, said Khaled Mery, Editor-in-Chief of Al Akhbar newspaper.
Mery pointed out, during the 7th Akhbar El Youm Conference on Saturday, that the conference became one the most important events in Egypt, noting that it reviewed some of the most important topic of the Egyptian economy, including monetary policies, digital transformation, SMEs, real estate, and trade barriers.
The Conference stressed the importance of forming a new council for the e-trade in Egypt to cope with the increasing usage of digital services in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The conference affirmed the necessity of expanding free trade zones, which largely contributes to growing the GDP and focusing on developing the scientific research to improve the competitiveness in the market.

The recommendations also called for updating the investment map and setting up an integrated timetable to link all the investment-related bodies electronically.
The conference urged to follow up the localization process of the industry here to increase the added value for the Egyptian products and resolve the industry-related problems.
At the closing session, the conference honored late economic figures such as Business man Mohamed Farid Khamis and Saudi tycoon Saleh Kamel, highlighting their contributions in boosting economic activities in both the domestic and international levels.
