Chairman of Air Cairo, Hussein Sharif, announced on Wednesday the company's first regular flights between Sharm El-Sheikh and Tashkent in Uzbekistan.

He added that this announcement comes as part of Air Cairo’s future plan to operate four flights a week between Sharm El-Sheikh, Cairo, and Tashkent from April 2021, in addition to charter flights between Sharm Sheikh and Samarkand, Uzbekistan, to be launched at the end of December of this year.

Sharif noted, in a statement, that the company made the necessary arrangements with suppliers of the ground and technical services for the company's trips, adding that ATMC has appointed a general agent for sales in Uzbekistan to support travelling process from Uzbekistan to the cities and domestic airports in the Arab Republic of Egypt and African and European cities and capitals through Egyptian airports.

“This comes within the framework of the directives of pilot Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, on the necessity to open unconventional markets and to acquire a share of the outgoing travel traffic in order to maximize benefit from the distinguished location of the Egyptian airports between the three continents and the network of Egyptian and international airlines operating from them,” he stressed.
