Ain Shams Univ., Royal Brompton Hospital Sign Twinning Agreement

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Metiny, President of Ain Shams University, and David Shrimpton, Director of International Relations at Royal Brompton Hospital, specialized in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery, signed a twinning agreement.

Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Metiny, President of Ain Shams University, and David Shrimpton, Director of International Relations at Royal Brompton Hospital, specialized in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery, signed a twinning agreement.

The signing was attended by Mr. Hesham Okasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Mr. Oliver Richard, a representative from the British Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Director General of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and a number of medical practitioners in the field of Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

This twinning is the first of its kind in this field, and is funded by the National Bank of Egypt with 30 million Egyptian pounds.

The signing was attended by Mr. Hesham Okasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Mr. Oliver Richard, a representative from the British Embassy in Cairo, Prof. Ayman Saleh, Director General of Ain Shams University Hospitals, and a number of prof. Drs. of Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

The two sides cooperate in the treatment of central aneurysms and aneurysms and limited interventions for the treatment of complex birth defects and heart valve diseases, through training the doctors of cardiac surgery, cardiology, vascular surgery, anesthesia and intensive care.
