He was born in Algeria to an Algerian father and an Egyptian mother but grew up in Egypt.\r\n\r\nHe began his career in cinema as short films director after graduating from the Institute of Cinema, such as \u201cYabanee Asly\u201d (An Original Japanese) before directing in 2005 film \u201cAl Hassa Al Sab\u2019a\u201d (The Seventh Sense), co-starring Ahmed Al Fishawy, which was adapted from a short film that Mekky had previously directed in 2003.\r\n\r\nHe had also collaborated with his sister Inas Mekky in directing several television productions, including \u201cLahazat Harija\u201d (Crucial Moments), and \u201cTamer wa Shawqiyah\u201d (Tamer and Shawqiyah), in which he also played the role of Haitham Dabour.\r\n\r\nMekky has found success as a slapstick, comedic actor, however, along with his career in cinema, Mekky has also continued his stardom with writing and performing rap songs, which that he performed in movies or uploads onto the internet.\r\n\r\nHe is known for his roles in 2008 film \u201cH.
