High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell described his talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as a "profound exchange" of visions.
After his meeting with Sisi at Ettahadiya Palace, eastern Cairo, Borrell said that “Egypt plays a key role in the region.”
“We (The EU) strive for bolstering relationships and for further cooperating on issues of mutual interest,” Borrell tweeted on Thursday.
The European diplomat stressed that" the European Union and Egypt are strong partners."

The Egyptian president received Thursday, Josep Borrell in the presence of Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Christian Berger, Ambassador of the European Union in Cairo, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
