After a suspension of nearly three and a half years, the first flight of the national company of EgyptAir, took off on Monday morning, on its way to the Qatari capital, Doha.
Cairo International Airport is set to operate, throughout Monday, 4 flights from and to the Qatari capital, Doha.
Flights are resuming after Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain agreed this month with Qatar to end a political dispute that broke out in mid-2017.
Egypt decided to reopen its airspace with Qatar and allow the resumption of flights between the two countries.
The move came after Riyadh announced a breakthrough at Al-Ula summit to end the rift, in which Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt cut diplomatic, trade, and travel ties with Qatar in mid-2017.
