Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said on Sunday that symptoms of seasonal Flu, and COVID-19 new variant 'Omicron' are highly similar.
In a press conference, he added that studies have proven that Coronavirus vaccination reduces the severity of infection.
It is worth mentioning that, on Saturday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1011 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 398,879.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 22,123 nationwide after the ministry announced 26 deaths.
About 924 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 332,531.
