Pakistani authorities have undertaken the evacuation of approximately 100,000 people in response to flooding caused by heavy rains, Sky News reported on Wednesday.

The country's meteorological office has issued forecasts predicting continued rainfall until August 27, as the monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea sweep through the northern regions of the nation.

Anticipated downpours, coupled with thunderstorms, are expected in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad until August 27.

Many parts of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum, will experience intermittent rainfall starting from today.

Additionally, strong winds and heavy rainfall are predicted for regions including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and Nowshera.

Pakistan's susceptibility to monsoon-related flooding underscores the importance of efficient disaster management systems and preparedness to mitigate the impact of natural calamities.
