On Wednesday, Arab foreign ministers elected incumbent Ahmed Aboul Gheit for a second term as Arab League secretary-general.
The decision came during a session held at the headquarter of the Arab League this morning, hours before launching the official meetings of the Arab League 155th edition.
In the same context, Aboul Gheit held a meeting with Maryam Al Sadiq on Wednesday for discussing several common-interest issues.
The AL Cheif asserted the league’s commitment to preserving Egypt and Sudan’s rights and shares in Nile waters, in addition, he showed the league's support to Sudan in calling for the sovereignty and security of its lands through legalized channels.
Moreover, he expressed his wish to end Sudan-Ethiopia peacefully and through bilateral dialogue.
On Tuesday, Al Sadiq started her visit in Egypt by holding a bilateral talks with her Egyptian counterpart, Ambassador Sameh Shoukry over GERD.
