Sudanese Foreign Minister (FM) Maryam al-Sadiq said on Tuesday that her country is looking forward to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Khartoum within days.

In a joint press conference with Egypt's Foreign Minister (FM) Sameh Shoukry, al-Sadiq highlighted her meeting with President Sisi earlier today, during which they discussed ways to boost bilateral ties between both countries.

On his part, Shoukry welcomed his Sudanese counterpart, pointing out that Cairo, Khartoum share a common aspiration to overcome challenges in light of the real political will to further boost cooperation.

He also added that they discussed various key issues, foremost of which, counter-terrorism, and the Grand Ethiopian Rennaissance Dam (GERD) crisis.

In this regard, Shoukry underlined the importance to reach a binding agreement on GERD, without harming the interest of any party.
