Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit said China takes a just position on the Palestinian issue.
This came in statements made by Aboul Gheit at a press conference following talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Zhang at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, where they discussed a number of regional and international files, including the Arab-Chinese summit held recently in Riyadh.
Aboul Gheit noted that the two sides exchanged visions regarding the implementation of the axes agreed upon during the summit.
On the Palestinian issue, the Secretary-General of the Arab League made it clear that China takes a fair stance towards the Palestinian people in obtaining an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He added that the university expressed its welcome to China's decision to lift the restrictions that prevented people from travelling to the Arab world, pointing to the aspiration to visit the Chinese with the aim of tourism to the Arab world.
The Chinese foreign minister's visit to Cairo is part of his African tour, which began on January 9, in an effort to strengthen Beijing's relations with Africa.
