Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, met with Miguel Moratinos, High Representative of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Gamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General, said that Aboul Gheit warned from the various challenges facing the world today, especially the continuation of Israeli crime and killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and southern Lebanon.
Rushdi added that the two sides stressed the necessity of cooperation in implementing the executive plan for the unified strategy for the Alliance of Civilizations, which was prepared by the General Secretariat and approved by the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level in 2016.
