Secretary-General of Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit congratulated Egypt, the UAE and Saudi Arabia on inviting them to join the BRICS gathering.
Aboul Gheit said on the "X" website, formerly known as Twitter, that it is a significant international gathering, and the joining of Arab countries reflects an increasing Arab influence in international decisions, and "I look forward to its positive reflection on Arab interests."
The President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, invited Egypt, Argentina, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to become full members of the "BRICS" group.
"The new members will become part of BRICS from January 1, 2024," Ramaphosa said today.
