Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Sunday strongly condemned attacks targeting Arab countries, warning that such actions threaten regional stability and violate international law.

Speaking at an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Arab League Council, Aboul Gheit said Arab states stand united in rejecting any aggression against the sovereignty, territory, or airspace of any Arab nation. He described the strikes—carried out with missiles and drones against civilian areas and infrastructure—as unacceptable and a threat to collective Arab national security.

Aboul Gheit said Arab countries were not parties to the ongoing conflict and had sought to prevent escalation through diplomatic efforts, citing initiatives by Oman, Egypt and Qatar.

He called on Iran to immediately halt the attacks and reconsider its policies, warning that the actions risk deepening Tehran’s isolation and damaging relations with its Arab neighbors.

He also urged the U.N. Security Council to act to stop attacks on Arab territory and stressed that diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving regional crises.
