Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, held a phone call with Nechirvan Barzani to express solidarity following an attack targeting Barzani’s residence.
According to a statement issued by the Arab League’s media office on March 30, Aboul Gheit conveyed the organization’s strong condemnation of the incident, describing it as a serious act against a prominent political leader in Iraq.
The statement, delivered by the Secretary-General’s official spokesperson, emphasized the Arab League’s full support for Iraq in confronting attempts to spread chaos and undermine stability. Aboul Gheit also expressed his personal solidarity with Barzani and his family after the attack.
The Arab League reiterated its commitment to backing efforts aimed at preserving security and stability in Iraq and the wider region.
