TV anchor Rasha Magdy highlighted, during Sabah El Balad program broadcast on Sada El Balad satellite channel, the newspapers headlines on Saturday. The anchor shed light on the announcement of Mohamed Aboul Enein to fund 100 cornea transplant surgeries.
Mostafa Zamzam, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Khair makers Charity, said that he talked with prominent businessman Mohamed Aboul Enein, the honorary president of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliament, to contribute to corneal transplants surgeries, which reached 250 cases and need treatment.
In his interview with TV presenter Hamdy Rezk during Nazra program broadcast on Sada El Balad channel, Zamzam added that these surgeries will cost more than 12 million pounds, since the cost of every cornea transplant surgery ranges between 30 and 40 thousand pounds.
He pointed out that Aboul Enein, immediately announced funding of 100 cases who need corneal transplants in cooperation with Aboul Enein charitable Association, stressing that the businessman had mainly contributed to handling this crisis.
Yesterday, Aboul Enein congratulated Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for winning the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. The prominent businessman described Ahmed’s win as an honor for Africa.
Abiy won the prize “for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation,” according to Berit Reiss-Andersen, chairwoman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
