Gamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League said that the two sides agreed on the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and the provision of the necessary relief to civilians in the Strip, including providing safe passages as quickly as possible and facilitating arrival of humanitarian aid to the population there.
On the other hand, the spokesman said that Aboul Gheit welcomed the improvement and development of Turkish relations with a number of Arab countries, which is in the interest of people on both sides.
He added that the Turkish Minister invited the Secretary-General to visit Turkey as soon as possible
