Abdel Dayem Delivers Egypt's Speech at UNESCO General Conf in Paris

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, delivered Egypt's speech on 19 November at the 40th Edition of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference at its permanent headquarters in Paris.

The ceremony was attended by an array of culture ministers- representatives of 120 countries, Ehab. Badawi, Egypt's Ambassador to France and its Permanent Representative to UNESCO and Dr. Heba Youssef, Head of Foreign Cultural Relations Sector.

Abdel Dayem said that this speech comes at the beginning of the fourth session, which discusses the issue of “ culture in public areas’’, a motivation for social and civilization transformation , preceded by holding three sessions.

The session included “Culture and heritage.. Renewable energy for dialogue and peace”, “Culture in the heart of education” and “A key dimension of human development and creativity for sustainable development”.

She pointed out that this participation reflects the international appreciation for Egypt and its cultural rank and civilization leadership.

The minister stressed that soft power succeeded in opening new prospects for communication with various countries.

The minister added that the global innovation system is working to establish an intellectual partnership to support and strengthen relations and ties between peoples.

It is worthy of note that the minister is preparing to hold a number of meetings with a number of her counterparts and international figures including Istiliani Mendotti, Greek Minister of Culture, Noura Bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development of United Arab Emirates.
