Japanese Amb. Gifts 80 Racquets to Badminton Players in Egypt

The Japanese ambassador in Egypt Masaki NOKE gave 80 Racquets as a gift to the Egyptian Badminton players today, November 21st after attending the first ever Egyptian badminton championship in the Cairo International Stadium. The ambassador expressed his hope that this gift will help spread the badminton sport around Egypt and strengthen the relations between the two countries.

NOKE attended the event in respect to the invitation issued by the Egyptian Badminton Federation and the Federation’s President Mr. Hesham ElTohami. The championship was organized to introduce the “Air Badminton” which is a new badminton style in Egypt. About sixty players participated in the championship.

NOKE played a friendly game of badminton during the championship, pointing out that he used to be a serious badminton player at the age of sixteen. He stopped playing for years before resuming again at the age of sixty-one.

It is worth mentioning that the badminton is one of the sports in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic games in Tokyo which are set to be held on July 23rd, 2021. The Japanese government is currently working on organizing the games successfully and are expecting an active participation of the Egyptian badminton team.
