Chinese local authorities confirmed today, Sunday, that 8 people died as a result of a landslide in one of the areas of Hunan Province in central China.
The landslide occurred in the village of Doshi at 4:30 am (local time), causing the collapse of four houses, leaving 8 people killed, Chinese news agency (Xinhua) reported.
Following the disaster, more than 350 personnel from local fire departments, public security, natural resources and health departments rushed to the scene.
Rainstorms hit large parts of Hunan from yesterday.
The province issued warnings of rainstorms and floods today, and expected that storms would hit the northern and central parts of the province during the next week as the risks of disasters would rise.
