The Sudanese Army reported that it had made substantial inroads into the territory held by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Bahri and the Halfiya area north of the capital, Khartoum.

According to a statement released on the Sudanese Army’s official Facebook page, a successful "special operation" was carried out early Friday morning, resulting in numerous RSF casualties and the destruction of a significant number of their vehicles.

The operation led to the deaths of seven Sudanese soldiers and left 28 others wounded.

The RSF countered these claims on their X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that they had successfully downed a Sudanese military aircraft, specifically an Ababil warplane.

They accused the aircraft of bombing civilians and populated areas across various Sudanese cities.

The RSF described the downing of the aircraft as part of their ongoing military engagements.
