Up to 7 were killed and dozens injured as Iranian missiles struck several locations in and around Tel Aviv on Sunday, in what marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

According to Israeli media, 7 were killed, of which a women was killed when a missile hit Bat Yam, a coastal city just south of Tel Aviv. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, but the victim succumbed to her injuries.

The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that 20 people were injured in total, following direct hits on residential buildings in central Tel Aviv. Several of the wounded are said to be in critical condition.

The city of Rehovot, located south of Tel Aviv, also suffered heavy damage. The same report confirmed that four people sustained life-threatening injuries after a missile exploded in the area.

Meanwhile, Maariv newspaper reported that six sites in Tel Aviv were directly hit by Iranian missiles, causing substantial physical damage and sparking fires in multiple locations.

Rescue and emergency response teams have been deployed across several Israeli cities. Authorities are urging residents to remain in sheltered areas, as air raid sirens continue to sound intermittently amid concerns of further missile waves.

This comes amid broader reports of ongoing Iranian drone and missile attacks targeting multiple Israeli regions, including Haifa and the north, as part of a wider retaliatory campaign following recent regional tensions.
