At least six people lost their lives due to a massive fire that erupted in a glove factory in the Indian state of Maharashtra in the past few hours.
The Indian news channel "NDTV" reported in its English-language bulletin today, Sunday, that workers mentioned the factory was closed, and they were asleep inside the building when the fire broke out at around 2:15 AM local time.
According to a senior official from the fire department, Mohan Mongsi, they received the call at 2:15 AM, and when teams arrived at the scene, the entire factory was engulfed in flames. He added that so far, the bodies of six people have been recovered.
Officials have stated that the fire was brought under control by Sunday morning, but the cause of the blaze has not been determined yet.
This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and vigilance in industrial facilities across the region.
