Six people were injured on Friday after a hand grenade was thrown into a beauty salon in the city of Grenoble, southeastern France, according to French media reports.
France Info reported that the incident occurred around midday, when a grenade was hurled into a beauty salon located in central Grenoble.
The explosion shattered the salon’s windows and caused minor injuries to six people, including a five-year-old child.
The public prosecutor stated that the device was not intended to kill but rather to intimidate, stressing that the grenade contained no large explosive charge or metallic fragments designed to cause fatalities.
Investigators revealed that two individuals entered the salon during the incident. One of them threw the explosive device, while the other filmed the scene.
The video has since circulated on social media platforms.
Authorities described the attack as an act of intimidation, warning that it reflects an escalating pattern of violent behavior among criminal elements.
French police have launched an investigation into the incident, as efforts continue to identify and arrest those responsible.
