In July 2024, Pakistani security forces killed four senior leaders of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a series of military operations in the border regions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Pakistani army claimed that these strikes significantly impacted the TTP's operational capabilities.

Over the past two months, the Pakistani military has conducted approximately one hundred targeted operations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The four high-ranking TTP leaders were killed in three separate military assaults across the Peshawar, Bajaur, and Khyber regions.

The first attack occurred on July 1, 2024, where nine militants were killed, including two prominent TTP leaders, Najeeb, also known as Abdul Rahman, and Ishfaq, also known as Maawiya.

This operation was part of an intelligence-led mission in the Tira area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The second attack took place on July 3, 2024, in the Bajaur region, following intelligence reports of a high-profile terrorist presence.

The operation resulted in the death of Irfanullah, also known as Adnan, after a fierce firefight.

The third and final operation occurred on July 10, 2024. A joint operation by the police and army in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar led to the killing of Abdul Raheem, another key TTP leader.

The raid, based on specific intelligence, resulted in the death of three militants, including Abdul Raheem.

All four leaders were directing their fighters from within Afghanistan, coordinating cross-border attacks against Pakistani security forces.

This significant loss is expected to hinder the TTP's ability to conduct further operations in the region.
