Iranian border guards opened fire at a vehicle carrying a group of Pakistanis, killing four people and injurnig two others in a remote area in the southwest, according to Pakistani officials on Thursday.

A local polices said that the incident happened near the border village of Mashkel in Balochistan provin, Pakistan, on Wednesday.

According to The Associated Press, government administrator Sahibzada Asfand stated that it was unclear why the Iranian forces opened fire.

Local police confirmed that the bodies of the four men had been handed over to their families.
