The authorities in Madagascar announced that 4 people were killed, as a result of Tropical Cyclone Freddy, which is hitting the country at the current stage.
This came after it hit the east coast on Tuesday evening, accompanied by strong winds, according to the National Office for Risk and Disaster Management on Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning, the National Office announced that "4 people were killed, and 16,660 others were affected," in a preliminary toll.
About 3,300 homes were flooded, and many were damaged. More than 11,000 people have been displaced.
