The United Nations has reported a significant displacement of over 370,000 people in Syria due to renewed fighting that erupted at the end of November.

Women and children constitute the majority of those displaced, with tens of thousands seeking refuge in the northeastern regions of the country.

According to the UN, emergency shelters in the affected areas have already reached maximum capacity, leaving many families without safe accommodations.

As temperatures plummet with the arrival of winter, displaced individuals are forced to sleep in their cars or on the streets, further exacerbating their vulnerability.

The renewed clashes have not only displaced residents but have also caused severe damage to critical infrastructure and disrupted the delivery of essential humanitarian aid.

This has heightened the already dire living conditions for those affected by the conflict.

The recent violence began on 27 November, triggered by an offensive led by an Islamist coalition headed by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham.

The fighting has intensified the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria, where years of conflict have left millions reliant on international aid.
