Serbian police announced the death of 3 migrants and the injury of 11 others following the crash of the vehicle transporting them in the south of the country near the border with North Macedonia.
In a statement reported by the American network ABC News on Tuesday, the police said they had arrested the vehicle's driver, a 43-year-old Serbian national, who was also injured in the accident, on charges of migrant smuggling.
According to media reports, the accident occurred when the vehicle veered off the road due to excessive speed.
