At least 21 people were killed and 38 others injured in a traffic accident in southern Afghanistan.
A statement issued by the Traffic Department in Helmand province of Afghanistan stated that the accident occurred on Sunday morning in the Girashk district on the main highway between the southern province of Kandahar and the western province of Herat.
Helmand traffic official Qudratullah stated that a motorcycle collided with a passenger bus and then with a fuel tanker on the other side of the road, adding that an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Helmand police chief spokesman, Hazratullah Haqani, reported that 11 out of the 38 injured have been transferred to hospitals with serious injuries.
