At least 20 people have died after a private bus caught fire following a fuel leak triggered by a collision with a motorcycle on the highway connecting Bengaluru and Hyderabad in southern India, according to local media reports on Friday.
Officials told the Asian News International (ANI) agency that 21 of the 41 passengers on board were rescued. Authorities have so far identified the remains of 11 victims.
The incident comes just weeks after a similar tragedy in the western state of Rajasthan, where 19 people lost their lives when a private bus caught fire.
