German police reported that two people were killed in a shooting incident on Saturday in the town of Bad Nauheim, located north of Frankfurt in the state of Hesse.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspected gunman fled the scene and is currently at large. Authorities emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the public.

An extensive manhunt is underway, and investigators believe the shooter acted alone. No further details have been released regarding the suspect, and their identity remains unknown as of late Saturday.

The shooting occurred in a residential area near a swimming pool, in front of a three-story apartment building. The police cordoned off a wide perimeter around the suspected crime scene and deployed heavily in the area.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the shooting. The circumstances remain unclear, and officials have not confirmed whether there was any connection between the suspect and the victims.

When the first patrol units arrived at the scene, they found two bodies, both fatally shot. Police have not disclosed the gender or ages of the victims, and it remains uncertain whether the shooter knew them.
