Two individuals were killed, and a Syrian soldier was injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting southern Syria on Wednesday, according to the state news agency SANA.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the strike resulted in three deaths, including an elderly woman, and left 11 others wounded.

The targeted area was a service center for the Jihad al-Binaa organization, affiliated with Lebanon's Hezbollah, located near Sayyida Zeinab, close to Damascus.

A military source told SANA that around 23:40, the Israeli enemy launched an air attack from the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting several points in the southern region.

The Syrian air defenses intercepted some of the missiles. The source confirmed that the attack led to the death of two individuals, injury of a soldier, and caused material damage.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicated that the strike hit a service center of the Jihad al-Binaa organization, situated about 700 meters from the Sayyida Zeinab shrine.

This area is known to be under the influence of Iran-affiliated groups, including Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The Observatory also reported that several civilians were injured by fragments from the Syrian air defense missiles.

In recent years, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, primarily targeting Iranian interests and Hezbollah positions, including weapons depots and shipments, as well as Syrian military sites.

On June 19, an Israeli airstrike in the same region killed a Syrian officer. Israel rarely comments on strikes attributed to its forces.

The ongoing conflict in Syria has claimed over half a million lives, displaced millions, and fragmented the nation.
