Two Syrian soldiers were martyred and six others were injured in an Israeli air strike on several sites in the countryside of Tartous and Hama.
According to a military source’s statement to the official Syrian news agency, SANA, “At exactly 5:22 pm today, Israel carried out an attack with a barrage of missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, targeting some of our air defense sites in Tartous.”
The source added that the attack led to the death of two soldiers and the injury of six others, in addition to some material losses.
The military source stated that at about 10:40 p.m., Israel renewed its air attack from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting some points near Hama, which led to some material losses.
Israel has carried out hundreds of raids on targets inside government-controlled areas of war-torn Syria in recent years, including attacks on airports in the capital, Damascus, but it rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations.
Strikes often target Syrian forces or Iranian-backed groups. Israel pledged to stop Iranian concentration in Syria.
