At least two people were killed and 19 were injured in a shooting that took place in downtown Oslo, Norway, early Saturday morning.
A gunman opened fire outside two nightclubs and a diner, Norwegian authorities announced on Twitter.
They added that a male suspect was caught five minutes after the shooting, however, the police didn't identify the motive behind the incident.
Tore Barstad, a Police Operations Chief, said that 40 persons witnessed the shooting, and they asserted that there was only one shooter.
Olav Ronneberg, a Norwegian reporter at NRK, said: “I saw a man arrive at the scene with a bag, he took up a gun and started shooting."
Ronneberg added: "First I thought it was an air gun. Then the glass of the bar next door was shattered and I understood I had to run for cover.”
On his side, Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said “The shooting outside London Pub in Oslo tonight was a cruel and deeply shocking attack on innocent people."
Christian Bredeli, who was at the scene of the shooting, told Norwegian newspaper VG that he hid with a group of about 10 people until everything settled down, and the place became more safe to leave.
He said: “Many were fearing for their lives,” adding: “On our way out we saw several injured people, so we understood that something serious had happened."
