2 Injured in Armed Clashes in Lebanon's Tripoli

Armed clashes erupted Monday between two a group of young men in Lebanon's Tripoli city, as gun battles have left two people injured, according to Lebanon 24.

The website stated that a quarrel broke out between a number of young men, in El-Qobbeh-Rifa area in Tripoli, against the background of a prolonged dispute that has turned into armed conflict, which led to the injury of two people, who were taken to hospital for treatment. .

"The shooter fled to an unknown destination, and the security forces are working to pursue him," it added.

The National News Agency said the armed clashes intensified during day hours between fighters in the areas of Qobbeh, al- Mankoubin, Mallouleh, Bab al-Tabbaneh and Syria Street, and those in Jabal Mohsen. The army fired back at the sources of gunfire, especially sniper fire.
