Bahrain's first official government delegation headed to Israel, Wednesday, on the first Gulf Air commercial flight to Tel Aviv, according to Sputnik news agency.
Flight tracking website FlightRadar24 revealed that Gulf Air flight GF972 took off from Manama Wednesday morning, heading to Tel Aviv.
It also pointed out that both countries look to broaden bilateral cooperation after establishing formal ties in September in a U.S.-brokered accord.
It is worth mentioning that, last week, the Israeli parliament (Knesset) approved with an overwhelming majority the US-brokered normalization deal with Bahrain.
62 lawmakers voted in favor of the agreement, while 14 others opposed.
Addressing the Knesset after voting, Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu expected more regional countries to establish relations with Israel.
last August, UAE became the first Arab nation to normalize relations with Israel since Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994, followed by Bahrain.
