National Center for Disaster Mitigation and Management in the Philippines announced today, Wednesday, that 196,962 people have been affected by Typhoon Saola, which hits large parts of the country.
The center said that more than 35,000 people were displaced from their homes, while reports of missing a number of people are being investigated, according to the Philippine "ABS-CBN" network.
The typhoon destroyed dozens of homes and caused infrastructure losses worth 41 million Philippine pesos, while the authorities are still counting the volume of the losses in the agricultural sector.
