In a devastating incident in southern China, 19 people have lost their lives and 30 others have been injured due to a highway collapse, as reported by Chinese television.

The collapse occurred on the Mudi Highway, stretching from Guangdong Province to Fujian Province.

According to the report, 18 vehicles were found under the rubble. The death toll of 19 individuals has been confirmed, with an additional 30 people hospitalized.

Fortunately, the condition of those hospitalized is reported to be stable, and their lives are not in danger.

China has been rapidly expanding its infrastructure network, including highways and bridges, to accommodate its growing population and economy.

However, with this development comes the risk of accidents and infrastructure failures. Incidents like the recent highway collapse highlight the importance of stringent safety measures and regular maintenance to ensure the safety of travelers and commuters.
