The Foundation for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and Wounded in Palestine stated today, Sunday, that 16,255 Palestinians were martyred, and 31,297 others were injured, in the first half of 2024.

The Foundation for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and Wounded in Palestine stated today, Sunday, that 16,255 Palestinians were martyred, and 31,297 others were injured, in the first half of 2024.

The Foundation explained, in its statistical report on the numbers of martyrs and wounded in Palestine, which covers the period from January 1 to June 30, 2024, that 16,012 were killed in the southern governorates, and more than 30,407 others were injured.

It pointed out that among the martyrs were 6,725 children and 6,725 women, while about 10,000 victims are still missing under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.

The report indicated that 38 deaths were recorded in the southern governorates (Gaza) as a result of the starvation policy implemented by the occupation forces since October 7, 2023.

In the northern governorates (West Bank), the Foundation for the Care of the Families of Martyrs and Wounded documented the deaths of 237 martyrs and the injury of 890 others in the first half of 2024, and indicated that among the martyrs were 45 children, 4 women, 6 martyrs as a result of settler attacks, and 27 students (21 from the school stage, and 6 university students).

Regarding the martyrs of the prisoner movement, the Foundation explained that 13 detainees were martyred during the period covered by the report, including 6 detainees from the northern governorates, 4 from the southern governorates, and 3 from the Palestinians of 1948.

Regarding the bodies of the detained martyrs, the Foundation noted that the occupation authorities have detained 72 bodies since the beginning of this year - this number does not include the martyrs detained in the Gaza Strip - which brings the number of bodies of the martyrs detained in the numbered cemeteries and the occupation refrigerators to 519.

It indicated that the occupation authorities are detaining 256 bodies in the numbered cemeteries, including 27 martyrs from the prisoner movement, 53 children, and 8 women, and these numbers do not include the martyrs detained in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
