A devastating fire in a densely populated residential area of Hanoi, Vietnam, claimed the lives of at least 14 people and injured three others early Friday morning, according to police reports.

The Ministry of Public Security released a statement detailing the heroic efforts of firefighters who managed to rescue seven individuals from the blaze.

The fire broke out in a five-story building located in a narrow alley in the Vietnamese capital.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and the identities of the victims have yet to be determined.

This tragedy comes just months after a similar incident in September of the previous year, where a fire in a residential building in Hanoi resulted in the deaths of at least 56 people, including children, and left 37 others injured.

The recent fire highlights ongoing concerns about fire safety in densely populated urban areas of Vietnam.

As investigations continue, there is a renewed focus on improving safety regulations and emergency response measures to prevent such catastrophic events in the future.

The Ministry of Public Security is urging residents to adhere to safety guidelines and ensure that their living spaces are equipped with adequate fire prevention measures.

This call to action is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and prevent further tragedies.
