10 Messages from Sisi to Ethiopia: All Options are Available

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent several crucial messages to Ethiopia during his talk about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) while attending the inauguration of the Smart and Secured Documents Complex on Wednesday.

Sisi stressed the reason for Egypt's respect and appreciation for development, provided that it does not harm its water interest.

Here are the most prominent messages Sisi said to Ethiopia:

1. We respect the development of Ethiopia to improve the conditions of its people, but without harming Egypt's water interests.

2. I tell the brothers in Ethiopia, don’t reach a stage that you are touching a drop of water from Egypt.

3. All the options are on the table… Cooperation is better than disputes and struggle.

4. We must learn from the challenges and problems that we have at least experienced, and we have seen the size of the cost, and we have seen the cost of any confrontation.

5. I have touched during the previous years, that our brothers in Ethiopia have some form of discomfort that the water is going to Egypt. I wonder why? It’s a God’s matter and that will never change by any human being.

6. God is familiar with the honest, faithful and loyal, and Allah will grant them victory.

7. We have never given up on our words.

8. What happened in 2011 was the beginning of the current situation.

9. We are coordinating with our brothers in Sudan before addressing the International community. 

10. Citizens' concern about the GERD issue is legitimate.
