A violent armed attack in central Mexico has left ten people dead and seven others injured, according to local authorities.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening when a group of four gunmen, armed with high-powered firearms, arrived in a pickup truck and opened fire on a café in the heart of the city.
Juan Luis Viruesca Ortiz, a security official in the area, confirmed the attack in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), revealing the scale of the violence.
"Four gunmen arrived in a small truck, carrying long-range weapons," he said. "Ten individuals were killed, and at least seven others sustained injuries inside the café."
The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, but Mexican authorities have already arrested one individual in connection with the incident.
The suspect is expected to appear before the public prosecutor's office soon, as authorities continue to gather evidence.
