At least one person was killed and 10 others were injured in an explosion that rocked Al-Zawiya market in the Gaza Strip on Thursday morning.
Witnesses said plumes of smoke were seen rising near Omar Al Mukhtar Street and Al Zawiya market after the blast in the Palestinian territory's main city.
The injured people were transferred to Shifa Hospital in the coastal enclave. Local authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion, although initial reports indicated that it was caused by a gas canister.
